The All Natural Face Cream Blush (Picture Heavy, Almost Complete Collection)

A few months ago, Crystal from the All Natural Face asked me if I'd be willing to take some photos of their cream blushes for the new website they were planning to launch.  The new website is live now (check it out!), but the photos didn't end up being used.  All the same, rather than just leave them sitting in a file, I figured I'd share the photos here.  I've photographed and swatched 23 of the 27 cream blushes, plus the one cream highlighter, so I'm hoping they'll be helpful to anyone struggling to choose colors.  I grouped similar colors together so you can see how they compare to one another.  (Click on the photos to make them bigger.)  You can also read my full review of the cream blushes here.

Have you tried these blushes yet?  What are your favorite colors?

July-August Makeup Bag / Current Rotation

Since I didn't do one of these for July, I really wanted to take the time now to highlight a few makeup items that have been standing out from the crowd this summer.  Some of these will be no surprise I'm sure - I've been trying to shop my stash and use products I already have, so I haven't gotten much in the way of new or exciting makeup recently.  Here's what I've been enjoying...

Lucy Minerals Lucy Light Foundation & Finishing Powder
Lucy Minerals' Finishing Powder is pretty much my go-to setting powder with whatever foundation I wear, but I've gone back to using their foundation lately as well.  The foundation gives amazing, buildable coverage and the combination of the foundation and finishing powder stands up very well in the heat too.  My full reviews can be found here and here

Ecco Bella FlowerColor Blush in Coral Rose
Almost two weeks ago, I found Ecco Bella on sale in a health food store that was stopping carrying the line, so naturally I had to pick up a few things to try.  The blushes are pressed without any silicones and are some of Mary (of Pure Makeup)'s favorites.  I've wanted to try them ever since she first reviewed them, so this was a no-brainer.  Coral Rose is a lovely medium pink that's completely matte.

The All Natural Face Cream Blush in Warm Earth & Touch of Peach
The All Natural Face's blushes make great multi-purpose products that can be used on lips, cheeks, and in the case of certain colors like Warm Earth and Touch of Peach, on the eyes too.  I like using Warm Earth as a liner and Touch of Peach is pretty all over the lid.  Touch of Peach makes a nice, subtle highlighter too.

Ecco Bella FlowerColor Lipstick in Mauve Rose & Tuscany Rose
These colors aren't as identical as they appear in my swatch, but they are similar.  Mauve Rose is warmer toned and a little lighter, while Tuscany Rose is more of a cool-toned berry that's a little on the sheer side.  Both have a nice sheen to them, but no sparkle.  I've been wearing them, especially Tuscany Rose, pretty much every day since I bought them.

UNE Beauty Skin Glow Pencil in G02
This pencil has been well loved, as you can tell from the small nub that's all that's left of it!  G02 is a great peachy color and is very brightening.  Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it anywhere that ships outside of Europe anymore, so I've started desperately trying to conserve the last little bit.  I'm not sure what I'm going to do when it runs out!  (Oh, beauty woes.)

So, that's the makeup I've been loving lately!  What's stood out for you this summer?

June Makeup Basket / Current Rotation

It's been pretty hot and humid here lately, which has made it a bit more of a struggle to keep makeup looking fresh all day long.  In deference to the heat, I've scaled back what I've been wearing this last month or so, but I thought I'd share the main bits anyways.

This is my first Benecos product, but I'm confident it won't be my last.  I'd been wanting a dark blue eye liner when I came across this one on iherb, so naturally it ended up in my cart.  The color isn't perfect - it's more of a grey-blue than the rich navy I was looking for - but the actual formula of the pencil is lovely.  It's incredibly soft and creamy, so you hardly have to press at all to get fantastic color payoff, and surprisingly, considering how soft it is, it also sets and stays in place really well.  I'll definitely be ordering a couple more colors in the future.

I got this as a freebie in the same iherb order as the eye liner and I'm surprised how much I like it.  I've become pretty loyal to a few particular lip balms lately, but this has become a new favorite.  It's organic, glides on nicely, and does a good job keeping my lips moisturized.  As of the time I'm posting this, you can still pick any Sierra Bees lip balm free with an iherb order.  If you miss the freebie, they're regularly only $1.95, so super reasonable even at full price!

I've been having issues with powder foundations disappearing off my face in the heat, so I've turned to The All Natural Face's Cream Foundation.  As far as coverage goes, the cream foundation gives a really flawless base and it's thankfully been lasting better than the powders too.  It also feels pretty light on your skin.  My full review is here.

Nicole from EcoChicBeautyDiva has raved about using Pure + Simple's Face Colours as blushes and I've wanted to try them for ages.  I finally decided on Taupe, a cool brown with some golden tones, since I'm still searching for that illusive, perfect contour color for my fair skin.  I'll do a full review with swatches soon.

These shadows are pretty much all that's been on my eyes this past month.  They're excellent quality and if you enjoy warmer-toned neutrals, goWarm is a lovely set.  At first glance, they're on the more expensive side, but if you break the cost down by number of shades, they don't actually cost any more than other natural pressed eye shadows.  You can see my full review for more information and swatches.

What have you been wearing this month?  Do you scale back/change your makeup routine in the warmer weather?

The All Natural Face Cream Blushes

I've been using The All Natural Face's cream blushes for the last few months, so I figured it was about time I came back and shared my thoughts on them.  These have been getting a good bit of hype in the green beauty community recently and I think it's well deserved.

The formula is lovely.  The blushes are very creamy and not at all greasy or waxy.  Pigmentation varies a little across shades, but they're all decently pigmented and blend easily, so you're never left with splotches of uneven color.  I find it easiest to apply them with just my fingers, which gives you a lot of control over how fast you build up the color, but you can certainly use a brush too.  On their own, the blushes start to fade after five or six hours, but you can extend their wear by setting them with a powder blush or translucent powder.

I'm a big fan of the packaging too.  The blushes come in small black compacts, complete with a mirror, that are perfect for toting around with you.  I'll admit my first inclination is still to reach for a powder product over a cream, but there's no denying that cream blushes can be better for achieving a natural, dewy, fresh look.  I especially enjoyed using them in the winter, when my skin was drier, but they're working well in the warmer weather too.

There's a large color selection of both matte and shimmery shades so there should be one to suit anyone's taste.  You can also use these on your lips, though I don't find myself doing so very often.  I haven't used Barbie, which I bought for my mom, but of the other three, I think only Peachy Rose works as a lip color.  Tequila Sunrise and Peach Goddess are both shimmer blushes and they end up looking very frosty on the lips.

My one consistent complaint with The All Natural Face is that it's hard to choose colors based on the company's website.  In this case, there are photos of the powdered blushes, but some of the colors change quite significantly when added to the cream base.  Peach Goddess, for instance, which in powder form looks like a peachy highlight shade, is a pigmented bronzey-peach in the cream.  Even so, I am happy with what I ended up with.  The blushes are super affordable and they perform well.  If you're in the market for cream blushes, these are definitely worth checking out!

There are also a good number of swatches circulating by now to give you a better idea of the colors.  I'd recommend checking out the ones done by Mary of Pure Makeup and Nicole of EcoChicBeautyDiva.  Brianna of iluvjesse444 also has a video showing a bunch of the colors.

Ingredients: Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Argan Oil, Candelilia Wax, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Boron Nitride, Oxides.

May Makeup Basket / Current Rotation

I really enjoy these kinds of posts and videos when other people do them, so I wanted to do one of my own.  I've been pretty consistent with my makeup this month, so I figured it was as good a time as any to show you what I've been reaching for!

This is one of my favorite foundations and you can see in the photo that it's on its last legs.  I dropped it towards the end of 2012 and it shattered.  I've already bought a refill, but I'm determined to use this up before starting on that one.  I'd definitely recommend the powder, but not the compact, as it's not even close to air tight.  Even before I shattered it, the foundation tends to kick up some dust, which ends up constantly leaking out of the back of the compact.

I know I've mentioned this concealer over and over, but I still use it literally every day.  Recently I've been using it to set my UNE Skin Glow Pencil.

Homemade Pale Pink Blush   [DIY]
For blush, I've really only been wearing my homemade blushes this month, and the light pink has gotten the most use out of them all.  It's a really soft color, but I love how it looks on my fair skin and that I don't have to be worried about overdoing it.  I want to play around with pressing some more, as this color's developed a bit of a bumpy texture as I've used it.  It doesn't affect how it applies at all, but still something that could be improved on.

I'm planning to do a natural eye shadow primer comparison, but I want to wait until the weather really heats up, since that's when a lot of primers start struggling.  I guess this a sneak peek - the Faerie Organic primer is what I've been using pretty much every day.

Darling Girl Cosmetics Blitzen Eye Shadow   [Review]
Blitzen was a limited edition color from the 2011 Christmas collection.  It's a lovely, pale peach with some glitter and makes a great "barely there" color for light skin.

A gorgeous bronzey-gold color.  Mine is a sample I've repotted into a jar, but I'll definitely consider the full size when I run out.  It's great for making blue eyes pop!

A pretty shimmery cream that I've been using to highlight the inner corners of my eyes.  It's been renamed Whiteout, but the color remains the same.

Probably my favorite SweetPea & Fay color, British Accent is a beautiful shimmery navy/indigo shade.  I've been loving wearing it as a liner.

I picked this up months ago, but I hadn't used it much until recently.  These liners are creamy enough that they go on easily, but they aren't so creamy that they smudge all over the place.  Smoking Gun is described as a charcoal grey, but I'd say it's more of a cool, taupey-brown.  I've seen it compared to MAC's Moth Brown, but since I don't have the MAC, I'm not sure how accurate the comparison is.

The Diva Stix are basically natural versions of NYX jumbo pencils.  Milk is your basic matte white and a very versatile color.  The Faerie Organic primer is also white, so I don't tend to use this much as a base, but I like it a lot as a brow highlight.  I wear mostly shimmery shadows, so the matte highlight makes a nice contrast.

I originally bought this to use on my waterline, but I've been loving it as an all-over concealer too.  The only downside is the size of the pencil - it's pretty tiny.  I feel like I'm going through it quickly, but then it's relatively inexpensive, so I'm not too upset.

Have you tried any of these?  What have you been reaching for this month?
