It's fair to say, aside from plucking the occasional stray hair, I hardly touched my eyebrows before about six months ago.  I didn't know what I was doing, plus I'm lucky enough to have pretty decently shaped brows naturally, so I just never felt the need.  That's gradually changed and while I still like a natural looking brow, I've discovered how much of a difference a little filling in can make.  I've experimented with a number of different products over the last few months and today I want to run you through the gamut of what I've tried...


THE PENCILS

Zuzu Luxe Cream Brow Pencil in Russet
The best part of Zuzu Luxe's Cream Brow Pencil is its consistency.  It's not so creamy that it slides around, but also not so firm that you feel like you're scratching your face to deposit any color.  It lasts all day and the spoolie on the back end also comes in handy.  Russet is a light taupe shade and a pretty good match, though I feel like it could be slightly ashier.  

Bare Minerals Frame & Define Brow Styler in Universal Light
This is the only retractable brow pencil I've found with good ingredients and I love it!  With a spoolie on one end, plus a small tip and no sharpening required, it's very quick to use and Universal Light is a surprisingly perfect color for me.  It's a soft taupe that looks the most natural out of everything I've tried.  A lot of the reviews on the Bare Minerals website mention the lead breaking easily, but I twist up just enough product so I can apply it, and I haven't had any problems.  

Beauty Without Cruelty Eye Defining Pencil in Soft Brown
This is a terrible eyeliner with a hard, waxy consistency, but it delivers enough color to work surprisingly well as an eyebrow pencil.  It has great staying power and I love how cool-toned of a brown it is, although it's a little too dark of a shade for me.  I passed this on to my mom, who has slightly darker hair and she seems to like it.

THE CREAMS, POWDERS & WAXES

Cheeky Cosmetics Brow Powder in Blonde and Light Brunette
These powders were my very first foray into filling in my eyebrows a couple years back and, to put it bluntly, it didn't go very well.  They're very pigmented, to the point where it's difficult to sheer the colors out enough to appear natural, and I find a loose powder challenging to work with in this capacity.  I also didn't find a color match.  Blonde is too light for me and Light Brunette has some odd, greenish undertones that didn't work either.  

Lily Lolo Eyebrow Duo in Medium
By far my favorite of the non-pencil options, Lily Lolo's Eyebrow Duo includes both a pressed powder and a wax.  The powder gives a very soft, buildable color and the wax is creamy, goes on clear, and does a good job holding stray hairs in place without feeling crunchy.    Medium is a mid-toned brown.  It's not overly warm, but I wouldn't complain if it was a little more ashy. (Are you sensing a pattern here?)

I also have the Lily Lolo Angled Brow Spoolie Brush*, which I've used in conjunction with the duo.  Because I don't have a lot to fill in, I wish the angled side was a little thinner for more precision, but it's still a very functional brush.  

Silk Naturals Brow Cream in Medium Brown
Silk Naturals' Brow Creams provide color and hold, plus offer some conditioning benefits for your brows.  The texture is that of a solid cream, almost like a lipstick, and once it's in your brows, the cream sets and does a good job keeping both the color and your brow hairs in place.  These are popular in the green beauty community and I can see why, as the cream is an easy product to work with and the color is nicely buildable.  I don't, however, love how it feels in my brows: heavy and a little stiff.  Medium Brown leans pretty warm, so I imagine Medium Ash, its cooler counterpart, might also have been a better color choice for me.    

The All Natural Face Vegan Eye Brow Wax
A clear wax, this has a much drier texture than the Lily Lolo wax and feels very comparable to an extra waxy lip balm.  It's a light hold product and while fine to hold a few stray hairs in place, I'm not sure it would do the trick for really wild, all over the map brows.  I also don't find the hold lasts all day, though it's easy enough to reapply, if you're so inclined.


The Bottom Line
I haven't filled in my eyebrows for very long, but I feel like I've tried a good number of products in a short time! On an everyday basis, my favorite is the Bare Minerals Frame & Define, as I find a pencil is the quickest and easiest method and the Bare Minerals is the most natural looking color I've found.  The Zuzu Luxe is a pretty close second and when I have a little more time, I also really like the way my brows look with the Lily Lolo duo.  The rest are products I would be unlikely to buy again, either for color reasons or just because I wasn't overly wowed.

General blogging practice would mean compiling a list of 14 products for 2014, but I decided to buck convention and stick to just my top five.  I was lucky enough to try out a whole bunch of fantastic products in 2014, but for the sake of this post, I want to focus on just the ones that really rose to the top and stood out to me over the last year.  The ones that, since trying them, I - cue the melodramatic music - would not want to be without.  


Dr. Alkaitis Organic Soothing Gel
Dr. Alkaitis's Soothing Gel got rave reviews across the green beauty community this past year, so I knew I wanted to try it, but none of the bloggers that I'd seen review it had similar-sounding skin to me, so my expectation weren't actually all that high.  For me, this is a spot treatment product, not something I use all over - it's a little too drying for that - but I'm blown away by just how well it works.  If I put this on a blemish or pimple before bed, it's pretty much gone by the time I wake up.  I've been delaying purchasing the full size bottle, but I've nearly finished my first sample and I've already got another en route to me, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time before I succumb to the larger size.

Pacifica Eye Liner Pencils
I wear pencil liner most days, but it's sometimes a struggle finding a good natural one.  You know, something that's pigmented and glides on easily, but doesn't smudge too much or slip down your face throughout the day.  I have two of the four Pacifica pencils - Jet and Bare - and I expect I'll give in and buy the other two at some point soon too.  These are lovely and creamy liners, but but they also stay put once they're on.  The one exception is that they aren't completely budge-proof in the waterline, but I've yet to find anything that is, so I'm okay with that.

Hazelnut Oil
About midway through the year, I realized that many of my favorite oil blends were made with hazelnut oil and made it a mission to track it down individually.  It can be a hard one to find in its unrefined state - hazelnut oil for cooking is easier to locate, but tends to be roasted and/or refined - but it was completely worth the effort!  Hazelnut oil is moisturizing, but it's also very lightweight and has some astringent properties, making it great for balancing oil production and perfect for people like me that are prone to enlarged and clogged pores.  My skin just loves it.  I tend to mix a couple drops in with every other face oil I use now.

Beautiful Curls Shea Butter Curl Reviving Tonic
I don't even know how many times I've written about this product, so I'm sure its inclusion here will surprise exactly no one.  I first bought this back in February, and I'm on my third or fourth bottle now.  I like using the tonic on second-day hair, since it does exactly what the name says - revives and refreshes your curls.  If you have curly or wavy hair, you really need to give this a try.  I usually buy mine off iherb or Vitacost (where it's an affordable $9 or less) but I recently spotted it at Whole Foods for only a few dollars more.

Blush
Not a specific product, I know, but the broader category seemed appropriate, since this past year was fully the first time I really embraced wearing blush.  I'm very fair so clown cheeks are always a real concern, but I've finally realized what the right blush can do for your face and I can't imagine doing my makeup without it now.  My top blush picks?  Silk Naturals Abstract and Lovelace, The All Natural Face Tequila Sunrise and Desert Sand, and Lucy Minerals Juicy Peach.

It's been a long time since I've done one of these posts - apparently June 2013 was my last one - so I figured it was past time I wrote about some of the products that have not been making the cut in my beauty cabinet.  I want to preface this by saying that none of these are bad products - well, with the exception of one that kinda, maybe is - but they're items that haven't worked for me.



Nubian Heritage Repair & Extend Shine Gel
If you saw my recent Best of Curly Girl Hair Products, you'll know that this gel did not make it onto that list.  I've heard a lot of good things about Nubian Heritage, but this gel was my first time trying anything from the brand.  I've ended up only using it a couple times due to how strong and perfumey it smells.  Super disappointing because it's one of the few Nubian Heritage products that's made without either Japanese honeysuckle extract or palm oil.  It also did seem to work really well, with a good hold that was neither overly crunchy or sticky.  The smell - courtesy of a "proprietary essential oil blend" - is pretty overpowering though, and it tends to hang around all day, so I'm not sure it's worth it.

Sukin Aloe Vera Gel
The thing that I said was maybe just a bad product?  That would be this one here.  Aside from the company's fondness for phenoxyethanol, I really like Sukin products, so when I was given a spare tester from the health food store I was working in at the time, I expected good things.  It's hard to find aloe gels without a ton of fillers, and although Sukin's has only three ingredients - aloe leaf juice, alcohol, and hydroxyethylcellulose - it's awful.  Using alcohol as a preservative requires a moderately large amount, and with so few other ingredients to buffer it, the aloe gel is left smelling like straight up rubbing alcohol.  The alcohol also seems to negate any of the moisturizing properties inherent in the aloe, making the gel pretty useless.  I'm really not sure what anyone was thinking when they made this product.

Pure Anada Fresh Mandarin Pressed Mineral Cheek Color
I featured this Pure Anada blush in a roundup of new blush favorites early in the fall, but since then, it's mostly fallen out of my good books.  Pure Anada's pressed products have a weird, plastic or putty-like scent that the company attributes to the raw, unrefined jojoba oil they use to bind them, and whether or not that's what the smell is, I'm just not a fan.  I like the experience of putting makeup on to be enjoyable, and even luxurious at times, so something that makes me feel like I need to hold my breath while applying it, just isn't what I'm looking for.  It's a shame too, because the color is really pretty.  

Schmidt's Lavender-Sage Deodorant
I already let the cat out of the bag on this one when I wrote about how I transformed my Schmidt's into a deodorant that didn't sting or irritate my armpits, but I thought I'd stick it in here too, in case you missed that post.  The deodorant, in its original state, kept me stink-free, but it completely tore up my armpits.  And apparently I'm far from alone on this, as a lot of you described similar experiences with Schmidt's, both in the comments on that post and on Instagram and Twitter.  

EOS Sweet Mint Lip Balm
As one of the few all natural lip balms that's easily accessible in stores here, I'd wanted to try EOS for years, but I only actually got around to it last month when my mom bought me this one.  The ingredients are good, the egg shape is cute, and I love the Sweet Mint flavour/scent, but the balm itself is just not as hydrating as I would like.  I even sometimes feel like it has the opposite effect and actually dries out my lips.  

[EOS Fans: Do the balms vary by scent?  I also have an unopened strawberry one, but I may end up passing it on if it's going to be equally lackluster in terms of moisture.]

The All Natural Face Midas Cream Concealer 
I'm always looking for products that will conceal my dark circles, and the yellow-toned Midas has garnered a lot of positive attention.  Sadly, it doesn't work for me.  The concealer is illuminating, but it gives hardly any coverage, so instead of achieving the bright and awake under eye look I'm going for, I end up with a layer of shine that may even make my dark circles look more prominent.    Needless to say I'm not a fan.

With skin as pale as mine, it's very easy to overdo it with blush and end up looking like a clown.  For that reason, it's taken me a while to fully embrace wearing blush, but I think I'm officially a convert.  Today I want to talk about three fairly new-to-me blushes I've been loving.


The All Natural Face Desert Sand Glow
Technically this one is an all over face glow, not a blush, but it's way too dark on my skin to use all over.  Instead, I love using it as a subtle blush.  It's a nude pink color that goes with just about any makeup look.  It works equally well to tone down an otherwise dramatic makeup look, or just as an easy blush to grab when you're in a hurry or can't decide what color to wear.  

Pure Anada Fresh Mandarin Blush
Peach blushes are always a favorite around here and Fresh Mandarin is a pretty, burnt orange shade that seems especially fitting for fall.  I've mostly gotten used to loose blushes, but the added convenience of a pressed blush definitely comes in handy sometimes.  One drawback of this product is that it has a weird, putty-like smell, but according to the company, this is just the scent of the raw, unrefined jojoba oil that's used as a binder.  Would I like it better without the smell? Definitely, but it only smells in the pan, not on your face, so it isn't enough to stop me from enjoying such a pretty blush shade.

Silk Naturals Abstract Sheer Blush
Abstract is a pale, plummy pink shade with a nice, luminous finish, but no actual shimmer or glitter. The base is a cool-toned pink, but it has a slight gold sheen that warms it up nicely.  Seriously, I've been using this color almost non-stop these last few months and I just love it.  Silk Naturals' blushes are fantastic for us lighter skinned folk, because they go on sheer (at first) and blend very easily.  They're still very buildable though, so I don't think darker skinned ladies would have any issues using them either.  


The Bottom Line
The swatches of these three paint a pretty clear picture of how I like my blushes: not too dark and not too pigmented.  I'll reach for a more vivid blush on occasion, but for everyday, I usually go for a fairly subtle cheek color, somewhere along the lines of these three.

I haven't done very many favorites posts over the years, but that's something I want to change.  I'm not sure about committing to monthly favorites, but I'm thinking every couple months, or at least seasonally.  Let's kick it off with five products I've been loving over the last few months...



Vice1960 Face Oil*
I reviewed this oil in May, and it's remained a staple in my routine ever since.  My skin isn't overly acne-prone to begin with, but even so, I've noticed it's clearer and generally happier since I've been using this product.  I usually mix one pump of the V60 oil with a couple drops of jojoba oil and the combination has a lovely, light texture that's perfect for summer and sinks into my skin quickly.  

Nourish Organics Coconut & Argan Body Wash (with Hibiscus)
You guys know how much I love Nourish's body washes, and the Coconut & Argan is my newest favorite.  From the name, I was expecting a coconut scent, but it's actually just coconut oil in here, not fragrance, so that's not the predominant smell that comes through.  Instead, it's a lovely, light, tropical floral that I don't even know how to describe.  I'm assuming what I'm smelling is the hibiscus, with just a hint of coconut.  I feel like this is what a midnight walk on a beach in Hawaii would smell like.

The All Natural Face Tequila Sunrise Blush
As much as I like cream products, my cheeks respond a lot better to powders, so a while back I decided to pick up the powder version of my favorite All Natural Face cream blush, Tequila Sunrise.  The powder is just as pretty as the cream and my skin likes it much better.  I've been wearing this blush almost every day since re-discovering it in my collection a couple weeks ago.

Ora's Amazing Herbal All Purpose Salve*
I liked Ora's Salve from the get-go, but this month it's really had a chance to shine.  We have cedar trees in our backyard, which means we are fully stocked on mosquitoes as well.  Usually I get good results from lavender oil on any bites, but when that wasn't working to relieve a couple fresh bites one night, I reached for this guy.  The salve, which is packed with soothing and anti-inflammatory herbs like calendula, comfrey, plantain, and chickweed, not only stopped the itching, it also took down the swelling and within 5 minutes, the bites were 90% gone!  

Stila 24A Blush and Powder Brush
I'm not sure if this brush is still being sold, but I received it in a swap this month and I couldn't be happier with it.  The bristles are soft and it's a great size for blush - small enough that you have a lot of control over where you're applying product, but big enough that it doesn't take you ten minutes to get your blush on.  I'm not usually one to spend a lot on brushes, but I'd be curious to check out more of Stila's brush line in the future.

For as long as I've been blogging, I've gotten questions about natural eye shadow primers.  Nobody wants to be walking around with creased eye shadow, so it's completely understandable why this comes up so often!  I've heard a lot of quick fix suggestions - using everything from lip balms to oil control powders and concealers as primers - but none of those have worked quite right for me.  It's been a bit of an epic search, with many primers and varied results, and while I don't still have all the ones I've tried on hand, I promised a comparison post of the ones I do, and today I'm finally going to deliver on that!  I wanted to see how these held up in the hotter, summer months, so now that it's officially fall, let's talk about the three primers I've currently got in rotation: Detrivore Cosmetics Original Eye Shadow Primer, Faerie Organic Forty Winks Eye Primer, and The All Natural Face "Magic" Vegan Eye Shadow Primer.



INGREDIENTS
In terms of ingredients, the Detrivore and Faerie Organic primers are fairly similar formulas, comprised mainly of oils and waxes.  Because they're oil-based and contain no water, no preservative is needed, although the Faerie Organic does contain vitamin E and rosemary, which will help extend the shelf-life.

The All Natural Face, on the other hand, is a water-based product, and as such, contains polyaminopropyl biguanide and potassium sorbate.  Potassium sorbate doesn't worry me, but I've had a difficult time finding clear information on polyaminopropyl biguanide, so I'm not sure how I feel about it as an ingredient.

Winner(s): Detrivore and Faerie Organic


APPLICATION
In terms of application, the Detrivore and Faerie Organic primers are, again, very similar.  Both are semi-solid creams that come in small pots and I like to apply them with my fingers.  The All Natural Face primer comes in a tube with a doe-foot applicator and, in that way at least, is more comparable to traditional primers like Urban Decay Primer Potion.  I use the wand to swipe it on, but again, I prefer to blend it out with a finger.  The Detrivore and All Natural Face primers have a slight tint initially, but once you blend them in, both become invisible.  The Faerie Organic leaves a sheer wash of white for you to apply your shadows on top of.

The key for all three is not to use too much product.  What you're going for here is a thin, even layer that's just enough to give your eye shadow something to grip on to.  If you apply too much, everything gets goopy and you're back in hot mess territory.  Also keep in mind that the consistency of all three primers does change slightly depending on temperature - they are softer in warmer temperatures and more solid when it's cooler - so you'll need to tailor your application accordingly.

Winner(s): Comes down to personal preference.  No clear winner.


PERFORMANCE
Detrivore's primer is the tackiest of the three and it definitely makes shadows pop the most.  Most colors end up slightly darker and any shimmery shadows end up looking almost foiled.  It's the best at holding on to anything glittery and does an excellent job showcasing more complex and duochrome colors.  It doesn't fare as well with matte colors, which can end up looking a little patchy.

The All Natural Face's primer does very little.  Once it's blended out, it basically feels like you haven't applied anything.  Colors are unaltered and look basically the same as they would on bare skin.  Fallout can also be a problem with certain shadows, since there's not a lot going on to improve adhesion.

The Faerie Organic falls somewhere in the middle.  It dries to a powdery finish, so it doesn't serve as a tacky base like the Detrivore, but the white color does make your colors appear more vibrant.  I haven't had any problems with fallout.

Winner(s): Detrivore and Faerie Organic, depending on eye shadow color/finish.


WEAR
Faerie Organic blows everyone else out of the water in this area.  Wear time is a bit less in the summer, but in the colder months, I can easily make it through a 14-hour day with perfect eye makeup.  Ah-mazing.  Detrivore lasts about 8 hours in the winter before I start to see creasing, but it only makes it 4-5 in the summer.  The All Natural Face only gives me a wear time of around 4 hours, regardless of the time of year.

Winner(s): Faerie Organic


MOMENT OF TRUTH
Faerie Organic is definitely the primer I reach for the most, and on an everyday basis, that's what's on my eyes.  For more complex, duochrome shadows or anything with lots of glitter, I opt for the Detrivore.  I'd happily repurchase both of these.  While I love other products from The All Natural Face and the primer is a hit for lots of people, it just didn't live up to my expectations.  It's something I rarely use and I won't be buying it again.

When I placed my order from The All Natural Face back in February, I decided to try their cream foundation.  Brianna (iluvjesse444) has recommended it numerous times, but I still didn't have the highest hopes for it.  My skin often doesn't respond well to cream and liquid foundations, plus I'm extra fussy about skin still looking like skin, rather than makeup.  All things considered, I put foundations up against a pretty steep grading curve.

The All Natural Face Cream Foundation has pretty variable coverage, depending on how you choose to apply it.  I love applying this foundation with my fingers to get a light to medium coverage.  I scoop out a small amount, warm it up on the back of my hand, dot it on my face, and then blend it in with my fingers.  Once it's warmed up, the foundation has a lovely creamy feel and blends easily, but I still like to spritz a couple sprays of George's Aloe all over my face and pat that in, just to make sure it's all blended.  Next, I use a small amount of Honeybee Gardens' Pressed Mineral Foundation around my nose and on any other small areas that need a little extra coverage.  I also use some kind of concealer under my eyes.  Last, I dust my whole face with Lucy Minerals' Lucy Light Finishing Powder.  I'm not sure the foundation actually needs to be set with a powder, unless you have oily skin, but I prefer how my skin feels, to the touch, with a powder on top.

You can definitely achieve a heavier coverage, but personally I don't like to, since as you build it up, the foundation starts to look more like obvious makeup.  Even sheered out with my fingers, coverage starts out a little heavier than I want it to be.  For about the first hour after application, I can see the foundation sitting on top of my skin, but after that, it somehow settles and just leaves a beautiful perfected finish, without looking at all heavy or cakey.  It also lasts all day and doesn't transfer.

Something else to keep in mind is that, while I initially ordered this to use as an under eye concealer, much like my first impressions of the color correcting concealer, I really don't like how this foundation sits under my eyes.  There, it does end up looking thick and cakey and somehow highlights uneven skin and tiny bumps that I'm otherwise not even aware of having.  For this reason, I keep the foundation away from the whole eye area and instead go back in and conceal there with other products.

The Bottom Line
Even though I was ready not to like it, The All Natural Face's Vegan Cream Foundation has really impressed me!  It has a beautiful finish, lasts all day, and hasn't irritated my skin in the least.  Plus,  it's super affordable.  Starting at $6.50, the price is pretty comparable to that of a drugstore foundation, but instead you're getting a completely clean and natural product.  This is definitely something I can see myself keeping in my makeup bag for a long time to come.

If you saw my All Natural Face haul, you may remember that I recently bought their Papayas and Coconut Face Food Cleanser.  Basically, it's a powder cleanser made of only dried coconut milk and papaya, that can be used as either a face wash or a mask. 



The All Natural Face has a whole range of Face Food Cleansers to suit different skin needs, but the enzymes in the papaya one are supposed to exfoliate and help remove dead and flaking skin.  Thinking about it, I've been questioning how many of the papaya enzymes would actually survive being dried.  I don't feel like this product does much exfoliating, but I've been enjoying playing around with it nonetheless!

I've used it as a face wash (rinsing it off immediately) and as a mask (leaving it on for 10-20 minutes before washing it off.)  I prefer it as a mask, but my absolute favorite way to use it has been mixing it with green clay.

I like clay masks, but they often leave my skin feeling dry, stripped, and in need of tons of hydration.  Mixing the clay with the Papayas and Coconut Face Food is the most amazing combo!  I still get the detoxifying effects from the clay, but the Face Food leaves my skin feeling soothed and moisturized at the same time!  It's the best of both worlds!  (I hope no one else just heard Hannah Montana in their head, like I did.)

It's also super quick and easy to make!  I use equal parts of the two (about 1/2 teaspoon of each) and add just enough water to make a smooth, easy to spread paste.  Then I apply it to clean, dry skin and leave it on for anywhere from 10-20 minutes.  It doesn't dry as hard as a straight clay mask, which I kind of like, but it does still dry down.  After washing it off, I tone and moisturize, as usual.

The Bottom Line
I've been loving this mask!  I like to do a mask about once a week and the combination of clay and Face Food, leaves my skin looking noticeably brighter and refreshed.  I love how affordable it is too.  The Face Food costs $7.50 for one ounce (larger sizes are also available) and I got my clay from iherb for $4.57.  I'm also curious to compare how this would work with plain coconut milk powder, so you can expect an update on that eventually, once I track some down!

These cream blushes are definitely my favorite of everything I picked up!  Smooth, creamy, and highly pigmented, they blend beautifully and you only need the smallest amount to add a nice flush to your cheeks.  My order was left outside my house and a few things ended up freezing before I got home, which seems to have caused some of the oils in the blushes to separate and come out.  Nothing major - they still work great - but that's what the liquid you can see in the above photo is.  

My one complaint with these, and something that I think holds true for a lot of The All Natural Face's products, is that the colours were not all consistent with how they appear online.  I was hoping to use Peach Goddess as a highlight, since it looks pretty light on the website (see here), but it ended up being a rich bronzey peach, not at all suited to highlighting.  It's a beautiful colour and I actually love it on the cheeks, but it's not what I was expecting at all.  I'm also quite taken with Tequila Sunrise, which is a lovely coral pink with a nice sheen.  The third colour, Peachy Rose, was actually the colour I immediately knew I had to have after seeing both Nicole and Brianna (of iluvjesse444) use it, but as it turns out, it's actually the one I'm least excited about in person.  I can't be 100% sure, but mine seems like it has more brown in it than either of theirs, which is a bit disappointing.

Magic Eye Shadow Primer
I've been testing out an eye primer from Faerie Organic the last few days, so I haven't tried this yet.  One other thing to note - the website lists cosmocial cq and potassium sorbate as the two preservatives in the primer, but the actual packaging lists potassium sorbate and polyaminopropyl biguanide.  I'm not familiar with polyaminopropyl biguanide offhand, so I'll have to do a bit more research before giving this a try. 

Tinted Lip Balm in Honey Peach
This is a nice, buttery lip balm that imparts just the slightest peach tint to your lips.  It's not highly pigmented, but it feels nice on and lasts a good while on your lips too. 

Lip Gloss in Peppermint Stick
Peppermint Stick is described as a light pink, but after seeing swatches online, I was totally expecting a darker, berry shade. As it turns out, it's a light pink after all, and full of silver shimmer.  Because of the shimmer, I think it works best over other lip products, since it ends up looking frosty if you build it up very much.  It's flavoured with peppermint essential oil, which in combination with stevia, leaves the gloss tasting pretty much exactly like a candy cane.

Eye Diva Stix in Milk
I haven't had a chance to do more than swatch this on my hand, but it's the first affordable natural dupe I've found for the NYX jumbo pencils, so I'm excited to try it out. 

Color Correcting Cream Concealer in Midas 
Probably the biggest disappointment in this order, although I haven't given up on it yet!  I'm constantly on the lookout for something that will completely conceal my dark circles and Katie from zenfemi has spoken highly of this concealer, so I decided to pick it up.  I've only used it a couple times, but I really don't notice much difference and it made the skin under my eyes look kind of bumpy and uneven.  I'll definitely be playing around with this more and will hopefully be able to find a way to make it work better.

Cream Foundation in Porcelain Kissed By Honey
I still haven't found a natural liquid or cream foundation that I've been fully happy with, which is something I'm hoping to change with this guy.  I haven't tried it on my face yet, but Porcelain Kissed By Honey is, I believe, the lightest neutral shade offered, and it looks like it could be a good match for my skin.

Face Food Papayas and Cream Facial Wash
Brianna also recommended the Strawberries and Cream facial wash, but I decided to try the Papayas and Cream one instead.  Papaya is full of enzymes that are supposed to exfoliate your skin and coconut milk is both soothing and moisturizing.  First impression: it smells delicious.  Not sure what kind of results to expect from this, but it's another product I'm excited to try out!

Overall, I'd say I'm pretty happy with my order, but I do think the company would benefit from redoing a lot of their photos to ensure more accurate colour representations.  It's hard enough shopping for makeup online and I, for one, am a lot more likely to buy when I have a good idea of what colours to expect.
